Michael Heilbronn

Michael, a native of Asheville, North Carolina, graduated from Western Carolina University with a BS in Recreation Management. While a student there he lettered in Soccer and developed a love for the outdoors that is still present today and a key determining factor in his decision to retire in Colorado.

Immediately following graduation Michael began a career with the YMCA. Over the next 39 years he worked in Hyannis, Mass, Westport, CT, Rochester, NY, Phoenix AZ and spent the remaining 23 years with the YMCA of Middle TN where he retired as the Executive VP, Chief Operating Officer.

As SR VP COO Michael oversaw an annual operating budget of just over $100 million dollars consisting of 31 branch operations, approximately 400 full time staff and up to 4,000 part time staff. Key components of the position included, the development of key operating ratios, setting up critical financial benchmarks and turning market research into viable long term business plans

In addition to his role with the YMCA of Middle TN the National office of YMCA’S often utilized his skills as a consultant, specializing in turnaround strategies for struggling YMCA operations around the country and innovative pricing solutions.

Michael and his wife Donna are residents of Pagosa Springs, CO.
