Colorado Advanced Industry Investment Tax Credit

SCAPE has partnered with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) to amplify the Advanced Industries Investment Tax Credit (AITC) to Southwest Colorado and the rural region. The purpose of this program is to incentivize investors to participate in funding for rural start-up companies through a state income tax credit.

By bringing this opportunity to our region, Investors can earn a tax credit of 25% of their investment up to a maximum $100,000 credit on an investment of $10,000 or more. If the advanced industries business is in a Colorado enterprise zone or rural county, investors can earn a state income tax credit of 35% of their investment. [More qualifying information can be found here.]

There are seven advanced industries identified in Colorado: Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace, Bioscience, Electronics, Energy/Natural Resources/Cleantech, Information Tech, and Infrastructure Engineering. These industries are active in our region and we have seen first hand how this incentive has helped investors participate in the direct economic impact of business development and job creation.

SCAPE has experience in utilizing this opportunity and is working with our network of regional angel investors to help further the impact and growth of capital needs in our community. For more information on the program please reach out to Elizabeth Marsh, emarsh@goscape.org.
