Introducing Eclipse DOT

Meet SCAPE 2021 class member, Eclipse DOT. Their company works with professionals in the transportation field meet compliance and help them navigate state & federal DOT regulations. We connected with Eclipse DOT Founder, Daniel, to learn more about his company, his entrepreneurial journey, and why he love the Four Corners.

Q: What’s your name, title, business?

A: Daniel Greer, COO, Eclipse DOT Inc

Q: What does your business do?

A: We help companies that utilize Commercial Vehicles in their business stay in compliance with federal regulations.

Q: Tell us about your entrepreneurial journey.

A: We started the business after seeing that there was a HUGE need for someone in the industry to come in and help companies that need help.  The other companies in the industry don’t really provide GREAT customer service, so we knew that there was a need for that in the industry.  Also DOT is hard to understand and we found a way to make it easier to understand.  We are giving smaller companies the competitive advantage of large companies when it comes to compliance, fleet management, and best business practices.  We started small and stepped out on our own when we only had one customer.  Now the company has grown and we are writing our own software.

Q: What was the most powerful lesson you learned on this journey?

A: So many lessons, where do we start? If I had to pick one lesson it would be that failure is not an option, it’s a must.  We all fail all the time, the best thing that we can learn is that failure is not bad unless you don’t learn anything from mistakes you made.

Q: Why did you apply for the SCAPE Program?

A: SCAPE is an awesome opportunity to help Eclipse grow to the next level.  We want to expand to nation wide, grow by 10000X and we are in the beginning steps to setting up our company to be able to expand easily.

Q: What companies inspire you the most (local, national, worldwide)?

A: So many!  Ezra Lee has several companies that give me inspiration.  Russell Brunson is the pioneer of Click Funnels, he definitely provides massive amounts of inspiration. Tony Robbins is a personal inspiration as well.

Q: What do you love most about the Four Corners?

A: We live in an incredibly unique community.  This is the only place that I know of that provides support in so many ways.  We love the outdoors, there is a huge amount of history here and families (ours included) seem to stick around (The Greer’s homesteaded in 1902 and my kids are the 5th generation to grow up on the same property).
