Q: Tell us about your entrepreneurial journey.
A: My entrepreneurial journey has been shaped by over two decades in B2B health and wellness, where I’ve closely observed the evolving landscape of mental health. In leadership roles at rapidly growing startups, I’ve navigated both challenges and successes, gaining invaluable insights into leadership, adaptability, and innovation.
MindReels emerged from a deep recognition of the need for innovative, accessible tools in this space. I’ve seen firsthand how current digital tools often fail to address the unseen influences of media consumption, lack true self-reflection, and are too generic and difficult to integrate into daily life.
Through my research and experiences, I’ve underscored the critical connection between mental health and overall well-being, deepening my understanding of industry gaps and fueling my commitment to developing MindReels. I’m particularly captivated by the power of neuroplasticity and how it can be harnessed through simplicity and repetition to create lasting change.
Q: What was the most powerful lesson you learned on this journey?
A: The most powerful lesson I’ve learned is the importance of adaptability. In the rapidly evolving health and wellness industry, particularly with ongoing technological advancements, I’ve observed that the most successful leaders and companies are those who can effectively adapt and embrace change. Watching how they navigate challenges has shown me that listening to user feedback, continuously learning, and making adjustments are crucial for keeping a vision alive.
Q: Why did you apply for the SCAPE Program?
A: I applied to SCAPE because they align with our vision of scaling MindReels globally while remaining rooted in Durango, Colorado. Through SCAPE, we aim to harness our community’s energy, connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, and build something truly impactful. The program offers a unique blend of local support and strategic guidance to help us navigate this journey.
Q: What companies inspire you the most (local, national, worldwide)?
A: Locally, I’m inspired by GitPrime, a Durango-based software company that demonstrated the potential for high-growth, tech-driven businesses to thrive in our community and achieve successful exits. Nationally and globally, I admire Headspace for making meditation more accessible and approachable, reaching over 100 million users worldwide.
Q: What do you love most about the Four Corners?
A: The Four Corners region offers so much that I love—access to lakes and rivers, scenic mountain biking trails, a supportive yoga community, and, of course, the amazing local restaurants. But what truly makes it special are the people of Durango: friendly, welcoming, and deeply invested in health, wellness, and personal growth. It’s more than just a place; it’s home, and I’m grateful every day to live here.
